This week's guest is the world-famous composer and pianist, Ludovico Einaudi.
With 15 studio albums and over 80 films and TV shows to his name, he is one of the most prolific composers alive today. Ludovico repeatedly tops the classical charts globally. Incredibly, one in 10 classical streams in the UK come from his music, equating to over 1 million streams a day and 2.4 billion streams in total. He is the highest-streamed classical artist of all time.
Ludovico’s latest album flowed naturally out of him during the pandemic and is appropriately titled Underwater, as it was a creative deep dive to another place, "where he could swim freely without thoughts, without travel, and the usual rush of touring." As you can imagine, it is a wonderful soundtrack for the Slo Mo life.
A biography of a musician can only tell you so much about them, so I’d recommend streaming his music, even during this episode, to get a feel for the heart and soul of one of the great musical icons of our time as he invites us into his mind.
