Ken Jordan - The Mindblowing Magic of Psychedelic Medicine
Show Notes

Today's guest is my friend Ken Jordan. Ken is the Editorial Director at Lucid News, a source of informed, honest and transparent journalism that covers the growing integration of psychedelics into society and their broad implications for human wellness. Ken has been a pioneer in progressive, conscious culture for decades. In 2007, he co-founded the consciousness network Evolver and its online journal Reality Sandwich, which he edited until 2019. In 2016, Ken co-founded The Alchemist's Kitchen in Manhattan.

My friends and family know that I don't indulge in drugs or drinks (you'll find out why in this episode), so I tend toward skepticism when discussing the therapeutic use of plant medicines and psychedelics. I invited an expert like Ken onto this podcast to give a platform for fair discussion, and I learned a lot from this wonderful chat.

Listen as we discuss:

  • How there's no known time in human history in which people did not experiment with mind-altering plant medicines
  • Why societies transitioned from natural medicine to pharmaceuticals
  • The commonly reported "intelligence" that seems to personify medicinal plants like mushrooms and ayahuasca
  • How meditation and psychedelics work on nearly the same mechanisms
  • Ken’s most eye opening insights from tripping
  • How some of the world's leading research institutions are legitimizing the benefits of these long vilified plants
