Charlène Gisèle (Part 1) - Biohacking for Your Health and Living Life as a Nomad
Show Notes

Today's guest is the wonderful Charlène Gisèle. I loved this talk because she is fantastic, but also because it's likely to be controversial. That's exactly what we want to present on this podcast: perspectives that you may not have thought about, but which are grounded in sense.

Charlène is a Professional Biohacker & Primal Health Coach. As a former Cambridge University law graduate and litigation lawyer, she  had the delusional tint on her mirror smashed when her father, a highly successful but stressed lawyer, had a heart attack and stroke while she was in the middle of an important trial. Coupled with the stress of her own work life as a lawyer, she ended up burning out. It was then she made the dramatic decision to step away from her legal career.

Still desperate to serve clients, Charlène embarked on a world health and wellness tour and retrained and qualified as a Primal Health Coach and Corporate Wellness Consultant. She now advises her former law colleagues, individuals and top corporate executives on how to optimise their health and wellbeing so they don’t experience the same stress and burnout that she did.

In Part 1, listen as we discuss:

  • Leading a nomadic lifestyle after leaving a fancy and powerful corporate job.
  • Charlène's time at an ashram, where the simple act of sitting still and breathing seemed alien.
  • How her father's heart attack and stroke woke her up to the dangers of her own lifestyle.
  • Life gives us a nudge to change direction or try something new.
  • How she convinces business execs to focus on health by framing it as a tool for success.
  • Her journey filling in the gaps of certain modalities and disciplines to create a holistic approach to wellness.
  • What is biohacking?
  • How biohackers expose themselves uncomfortably to nature and the laws of nature for their own wellbeing.
  • Acknowledging that the meat on your plate required the death of an animal, and the benefits of hunting.
  • The vegan diet is inherently nutrient deficient.
